Crushes can be a lot of fun, and it's okay to acknowledge that. Trying to ignore that you do have a crush can make it more taboo, which unfortunately makes someone more intriguing. So yeah, these feelings happen - but you don't have to act on them to have fun. Just letting them exist for their own sake, and moving about the rest of your life normally, strips a lot of their potential bad influence over you.

And don't feed the wolf. If I needed to stop by his office (we were coworkers), cool. But if I noticed I was trying to generate excuses to stop by his office, I would practice having a laugh at myself and switching subjects in my mind - same with daydreaming. Probably also a good idea to drink alcohol only sparingly if he's around until you're sure you won't try anything unethical.

My crush lasted a few months, and nothing inappropriate or unprofessional happened. It was pleasant while it lasted, and now I'm firmly over it and we're still friendly coworkers: no harm done.
