Clip from said speech
When people acknowledge the fact that people Trump and Biden's age can't be trusted to serve competently for a four year term, it doesn't mean they aren't capable of having good days or good moments. This was a good day and a good moment for Trump. He spoke somewhat coherently and his words were relevant to the time and place. Biden, if you recall, had a good day every now and then too. Remember the SOTU address Biden gave in 2024? Even Republicans were having a difficult time criticizing Biden after that speech.
Elderly people have good days and bad days. They have "senior moments". I'm old enough to know and to have known lots of people around the age of 80 and older. They all have continued to contribute to society in meaningful ways. None of them should be trusted to remain fit 24/7 365 for a four year term at the most powerful and demanding position in the world. Trump and Biden are the two biggest mistakes American voters have ever made and it's time we all acknowledge this or else we are doomed to repeat preventable mistakes.
