PP you are responding to. I don 't know as much about Russ Vought (other than being the architect of Project 2025). Can you elaborate on his role now and how he is calling the shots?

DP. He has control over every federal agency. Budget, regulations have to go through him. He is implementing P2025 through his role.

Another DP. Usually a president's lasting legacy is legislation they sign and judges they appoint. But in this case it will take decades to recover from the destruction that is P2025.

I agree with this. Bush was a narcissist who wanted global power, lied to get it, and wanted to tell the world what to do. Trump wants US power, has lied to get it, and wants to tell US citizens what to do and wants to stick it to the world. They both behave terribly because of their narcissism. I think there are a lot of comparisons that can be made between the two. They also both have complexes with their dads and seem to make a lot of decisions to uphold what they believe are their dad's views and wants.

Bush's presidency was terrible and at the time I thought it was the worst, but I was wrong. Trump 45 and 47 are at a whole different level. Bush was not completely insane and wasn't egomanaical. I'm not sure how to interpret some of his grievous mistakes but I don't believe he did things based on his own personal interests and whims like Trump does.

I haven't forgotten--I am one of the earliest PPs. Back then and now I say: Bush was a liar and an absolutely awful president. Back then and now I say, I don't care (and neither should anyone!!!) that he is a "nice guy" in the neighborhood. The estimates on the civilian deaths in Iraq vary but are in the hundreds of thousands. Every single one of those is on George W Bush.

Let's stick with deaths for a moment: how many deaths have already been caused and are currently being caused by the wiping out of USAID??? Oxfam is estimating 3 million potential preventable deaths per year.

For what it's worth, W "respected" democracy and our institutions enough to know he had to lie. It's horrible, but it is even more terrifying to have someone who is brazenly and systematically destroying our democracy. No one compares to Trump. He is in a category all by himself.
