I just finished Hail Mary, which wouldn't normally appeal to me but was recommended by a young person I know and I didn't want to blow it off. It took me a little while to get into it but I ended up really enjoying it.

So far I'm finding it very difficult to get into, but the other authors that poster recommended are some of my absolute favorites, so I'm hoping this one clicks soon.

Omg, I love Possession so much. One of my all- time favorites.

It is about a 17 year old girl who rides her bike home from school, but when she shows up at home her mom freaks out because the girl has been dead for seven years.
I liked it.

Oh, that one sounds interesting

My book club just finished "The Girl Who was Taken". I liked it. The ending literally left you hanging though, terrible. The one last month was "The Midnight Library" and I didn't like that one at all

Reading “Intermezzo” and have mixed feelings. Can’t quite decide how I feel about Sally Rooney.

I just finished The Daydreams by Laura Hankin and loved it! Really sucked in this Millennial with a bit of nostalgia from the early-mid aughts, and actually pretty twisty (not in a suspenseful way). Really loved it!

I liked The Story she Left Behind much more than The Secret Book of Flora Lea. I may have already said that in last month's thread? Enjoy your reading!

I read this in one fell swoop yesterday. What a special, special book. I just love an ornery, yet likeable main character. When I heard it was epistolary I though that would become grating after a while but it didn't at all. I finished it in the afternoon and when I was ready to pick up the next book for bedtime reading I couldn't yet as I felt like I had a reading hangover. I had to sit with this one.

I read Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney and thought it was weird, but well written.

Then I read Women's Hotel by Daniel Lavery. It was awful. Pages of drivel. Unremarkable characters and almost devoid of plot. Had it not been my only option on a plane for hours, I'd have probably abandoned it.

I had seen Abby Jimenez recommended here, and just forced my way through The Friend Zone, which was easily the worst book I ever made myself finish. I checked Reddit, which suggested she has dreadful books and very good ones. I’m now wondering if there is some sort of writing conglomerate that uses her name?

Vance’s
I hated the one book of hers that I read - but I've come to realize that romance just isn't my genre.

Same, I find romance insufferable.

I used to hate romance. So boring! So predictable! So cheesy! But now I am 51 and I enjoy it have added some into my reading mix.

Agree, I need to switch up my genres every book and romance is a good way to do that.
