Is that John James, the rep in my area?

I would take what he says with a grain of salt.

He's finally gotten elected for something after running for nearly every position available out there (Govenor, Senator, Student Council President)

He's done nothing for his constituents here, supporting the disastrous Trump actions which will impoverish a large percentage of them.

I’m a woman, and I am not concerned about Gretchen Whitmer hiding her face there. But I don’t hold the Dems to some impossible perfect standard, while watching Trump and Company destroy our country’s economy and world standing.

They are desperate to distract from the fact that not only did Trump's people accidently include a reporter in their military planning ON SIGNAL, but Trump appears not to have been involved in the planning at all. It's actually embarrassing to TRUMP if Biden was in fact severely cognitively impaired as president because he was still worlds better than this dumpster fire.

But sure let's talk about a couple of photos of Whitmer in which she is neither sharing war plans with reporters nor screwing prostitutes. This is sounds like a super important discussion to have.

Well, those are the kinds of articles NYT likes. Instead of reporting actual news, they used a circular narrative re Biden’s age, and never suggested that Trumps age was a problem, a Penn study found.

Is the NYT reporting on this fact, pp? That Trump didn’t even know about the invasion? If not, everyone needs to ask why they’re still supporting them and if you are, ask them why they’re are treating a Michigan woman politician worse than the men ruining the country?

A news photographer (NYT) snapping a photo of… *checks notes* arguably the most famous currently serving female politician in nation, inside the Oval Office, there to meet with president Trump, is “treating her worse”?

Bow down and put your cameras away when Queen Whitmer is before you! lol

You don’t care that they’re making up a scandal, rather than reporting on how Trump is ruining America? You think a man saying he didn’t want to be photographed would be in the news like this? (The answer is no.)

How precisely did they create a scandal? The article it was used wasn’t framed in such a way at all. If you were the photographer who snapped this, you would have, what, deleted it before showing it to your bosses?

There is no scandal. Just idiots running the media show who think only unfit 80 year old losers with penises should be in power.

She's intelligent, she can articulate an appropriate thought, she's a multi term State Governor from a swing state... sure, you can come with reasons why she may not be the ideal candidate but there are a hell of lot more reasons why Biden and especially Trump aren't ideal POTUS candidates. Grow up people! Learn the difference between fit and unfit for God's sake!!!!!!!!

Your beloved two most recent recent presidents have done nothing but embarrass our country and the people who elected them but you fools want to discount someone like Whitmer for a few poorly timed photos?? Perhaps there is something to this misogyny holding female candidates down concept?? Is it misogyny or just plain ole stupidity or both?

The Times is all-in on Shapiro ‘28.

Why?
And why do you think that?

I’ve been a Times subscriber for 50 years. When you read that paper every morning you can just feel when a finger is on the scale. The placement of articles (A1s or front page on website for long periods of time), photos they use, ace straight news reporters writing beautiful prose. It’s obvious Shapiro is their horse for 2028. And this Whitmer photo was a message from the very top she’s finished.

I’m sensing possible coordination. A gray lady alum and Pulitzer winner based in Michigan just used the photo to publish this hit piece:

“It took The New York Times—of all publications—to expose Gretchen Whitmer for what she truly is: a feckless trust-fund sorority girl unequipped to lead.”

This is disturbingly petty. It’s so not a big deal. I also note there seems to be a (troll) poster on here, repeating these same Whitmer bashing talking points. Odd that a DMV area parent would care so much about MI, isn’t it?

+1
They are themselves very desperate and cringe.

As I said above, NYT is just as biased. Read how they skewered Biden, and they yet have to skewer Trump.

Many people don’t like Whitmer because she’s been the only politician in America to beat Trump. She turned MI blue after something like 47 years.

Women need to burn it all down.

Well, not exactly. She ran for guv in '18 and won, the first Dem (and a woman) to win again after Granholm. In the same year, there were a couple of ballot questions transforming campaigns and elections, including a redistricting commission. That commission, using 2020 census data, redrew the state maps. Dems won state house/senate in '22. Lost house by narrow margin in '24. Will see what happens in '26.

FWIW, the state GOP is suing as they think the ballot questions were "unfair." Yeah no.
