I don't think it's a waste of time. It's a good reminder about the need to stay competitive. And if you don't want to, and make soccer a lesser part of your life, that's a fine decision. But then accept that you won't start, or will be moved to a lower level team. And it's a good way to see all the players (current and new) mixed together.

Hard to do when Potomac still hasn’t posted its girls slate for next year.
NP: Why does Potomac not have their current team attend the tryout sessions?
No clue why Potomac isn’t doing that either. When we played their 2013G 1st team. We could see there is a good amount of talent on that team. But there were maybe a few that struggled. I’m hearing that team isn’t being mandated to try out . 🤔🤔 Wierd that they’re doing it that way … also .. heard the rumor that their current coach won’t be their coach anymore. They’re getting a former coach from BSA that left a few years ago . 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️.
It's not that they don't have to re-try out - it's that current players are/have been assessed all year long. No one on the current team is guaranteed a spot on next year's teams. My understanding is current players will (or will not) receive offers for next year for whichever team they are assessed to be the best fit on and that may or may not be their current team.

Ppa on the girls side, for sure.
Huh? The only age group where PPA girls has a better team than Potomac is 2010 and rumor has it that team is falling apart.
Per the girls club rankings Potomac is 366 and PPA is 501. If one of them is going to make GA it will be Potomac.
2009 PPA is way better than Potomac. But I agree with you on 2011 onwards. Potomac has a stronger base they just always lose the top to Bethesda usually in the u10-12 range.

PPA 2011 & 2012 are weak. But 2013 on down they good to excellent.
