I have relatives who really are like this (I do not attend the same church as they do) but anti-Christian people will find examples of this mindset and paint all Christians with the same brush. And feel empowered to do so, while they would be quick to cry out if someone expressed similarly sourced sentiments about any other group.
I suspect that people stereotype because of the amplified noise from right wingers, the kind of people who attend churches where the US flag is displayed among crosses.
There are a lot of voices and congregations out there challenging the current status quo, but they aren’t given the same attention, so they aren’t delivered to your doorstep, and you keep on confirming your own bias.

TAX THE CHURCHES!
Yep. Not only that I want prosecution for violation of said Jesus commandments and policies from the Bible. Let’s start at the top with Trump.

We are at slippery slope time. If someone is pro-choice, does that make them anti-Christian? If someone calls out the crimes in the Administration, does that make them anti-Christian? If anyone is Jewish, Hindu, Muslim or any other religion, does that make them anti-Christian?
I mean, we were asked report or call out other biases. Why is this different?
Although I think your examples are a little hyperbolic.
What would be an example of anti Christian bias please? We all have Sundays and Christian holidays off. I’ve never seen anyone bat an eye if someone leaves early for a Lent service. Does anyone get teased for celebrating Christmas or having Easter dinner?? Plenty of Christian holiday themed food and supplies in stock in our stores. Has anyone brought a workplace claim of anti christianism? What on earth would this even be???
It’s whatever Rubio deems to be anti Christian. I’m guessing there will be no written definition. I worry that being gay will be anti Christian to them.

Eliminate all religious federal holidays.
Eliminate church marriages for civil unions.
That’s the only way Christians won’t feel attacked. I lived in China and didn’t get PTO for Christmas. They only have national federal holidays, which for us would be July 4th and maybe Thanksgiving.
Do you espouse the same for Chinese holidays for which people in China are given the day off? Nations often have cultural holidays with religious roots.
You tell me what those are, I’ll wait….

The festival was long marked as a cultural festival in China and is a public holiday in China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The People's Republic of China's government established in 1949 did not initially recognize the Dragon Boat Festival as a public holiday but reintroduced it in 2008 alongside two other festivals in a bid to boost traditional culture.
In some regions of China, people, especially children, wear silk ribbons or threads of 5 colors (blue, red, yellow, white, and black, representing the five elements) on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival.[15] People believe that this will help keep evil away.[15]
Other common activities include hanging up icons of Zhong Kui (a mythic guardian figure),

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:People love to guffaw about this, but there is a total double standard here: ant-Christian bias is real and widespread. I am a practicing Christian in an environment with very few of them. In virtually every setting I have been in, people have made unambiguously hostile comments about the tenants of the religion and the people who practice it. I have found it virtually impossible to take off work on holidays that are important to practicing Christians but lack the lay resonance of Christmas (think Good Friday, Palm Sunday).
This response will undoubtedly provoke a torrent of meanspirited remarks from people who disagree with my premise but lack the self awareness to understand that they substantiate it.
Oh, the irony of this post. You do realize that Christianity has held a privileged position in the US for decades, and with a changing population, it's stating to lose that privilege. It's ironic that you are blasting people for a lack of self-awareness, when you can't see how movement towards equality is not anti-Christian or oppression. Perhaps it's you that needs better self-awareness on what is actually occurring.
Is it a movement toward equality? Or just an opportunity to publicly demonize a group?

Whut?
pp here- I believe it's meant to further legitimize discrimination against the gay and trans communities (you know, for "religious reasons") and many of the of the Evangelical people are I know are offended if you express that you are not religious.
So hypocriticals are now evidence of discrimination? If you want to play that game, then any criticism of someone else's deeply held religious beliefs should be considered hate speech. See how this works?
