Don’t spit on the staff and don’t walk on the beach at night. I’ve stated there many times and never even been on the beach. I don’t think the beach is private. I heard about people coming up and trying to get you to jet ski or do braids.
Not true.
On Atlantis itself it’s private and extremely safe.
He was being an entitled jerk to employees and he paid for it with his life.
Or the two things are unrelated.
People are being raped by jet ski company employees and being mugged at gun point. There are so many other places to vacation, I will just choose somewhere else.
Unfortunately stuff like this can happen anywhere. Would you pay a man in a poor area of DC to give you a ride to secluded area? Probably not. Why do it in a beautiful place and think it’s safe?
Atlantis doesn't even get good reviews.
+1
People think because the water is beautiful that it’s safe and doesn’t look “sketchy“. Interesting if you put the same crime in Nassau as somewhere else, but took away the beauty, people would be scared shitless.
I’ll never understand why middle class America thinks Atlantis is so high-end. It’s huge, jampacked with people, overpriced cheeseburgers, and at least a shark attack a year.
Exactly. We are the target market - we like big popular resorts like Disney, cruising, waterparks, etc. But anyone who spent 5 minutes reading the reviews or talking to anyone who has been would probably not go. I have never spoken to a single person who said they would go a second time. That is always my first question to people about a vacation - would you go back/do it again?

Anonymous wrote:This young man died within 12 hours of arriving in the Bahamas with his mom and dad. His mom said he left after dinner around 9pm to get his jacket and explore the resort. She didn’t hear from him after that, his phone location wasn’t working, her and his dad searched the resort looking for him, and then filed a missing person report. Eventually the hotel staff came to her room and said her son was found dead. He was 23 years old.
Based on the information in the article below, this man had a job at a studio as a producer, and there’s no indication that he abuses drugs.

I’m not buying the hotel’s story about the spit. How do we know it wasn’t a lie, or that they got him mixed up with someone else? I’d like to know what video footage shows. There are so many gaps in this story, and this family deserves to know what happened to their young loved one.

“ Resort officials questioned his mother on where he was as they accused him of spitting on several staff members inside a restaurant.
“The police said they were looking for him because apparently he spat on some staff in a restaurant,” Michelle McAlmont told the outlet.”
Sounds fishy, wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Anonymous wrote:OK. Am I the only one who read this article? The young man left the restaurant, after which hotel security approached his family to ask where he was because he had been SPITTING ON RESTAURANT STAFF and they were trying to find him. That's how they found him dead on the beach having been beaten. I mean, this does not sound like a random act of violence to me. OP's post is misleading.

Everything new I hear just confirms we will NOT get off the boat for our cruise. Hard pass.
