It also reduces inflammation and possible helps with autoimmune diseases. My doc says it will eventually get approval for off label uses.

Op here, i hear you and i am sure it has worked great for you. I am happy you got the results you wanted! I am not convinced yet this is the right way for me even though I am tempted by all the success stories, including yours.

What is the most tempting to me about GLP1 right now is of course like everyone the idea that if only i could get to my goal weight, i would be fine as i would know how to maintain it or be motivated enough to maintain it. But above that, the real draw is that GLP1 brings something extra compared to just curbing appetite, an anti-inflammatory effect or a regulation of insulin that would really make a difference for my stubborn belly fat.

But as I wouldn't be interested in being on a medication for life and I don't have particular food noise issue (and i am obviously not overweight or have any medical need for it), I feel the need to challenge myself and make sure i really test the assumption that "i cannot lose those last few pounds/belly fat rolls without it".

Again, as this forum is very antagonistic, I want to say that
1/ I have absolutely zero judgment on anyone taking the drug for small weight loss. This is not a "I am holier than though" experiment or an attempt at gatekeeping thinness to the naturally thin as i have read in another thread. Everyone makes their choice based on their body, their needs, their life experience and the knowledge they manage to access. 2/ I posted here for 2 reasons, for accountability but also because i know I am looking for other people running the same experiment and I would want to know their conclusion.

🤷‍♀️ What do you want me to say. I don’t look sickly and I don’t have an eating disorder but no one wants to take me at my word. Looks like you all know my body better than me.

In the meantime. I don’t know if you opened the news but this country is going completely insane. Let’s keep that depressing perspective. Me wanting to look better in my summer dress does not warrant your collective rage.

What about channeling that on April 5th at the DC protest ? Trying to make this thread worth my time ..

You are the one who noted this is the diet and fitness forum. For a person who came here with some ill considered ideas, you sure are defensive.

April 5th, come with your rage against people you disagree with. It is great calorie burning exercise too ! Or bring love and compassion to make the world a better place. Whichever.

NP. You’re pretty awful. I’ll leave it at that.

Yes you have an eating disorder, by definition.

OP here, knowing my body I think I need both. And that’s what I am working on. Points well taken on protein and strength training, that’s part of my plan. I will come back in a month with what I was able to achieve in that timeframe

Since you don’t gain muscle easily, you are not going to gain muscle while cutting calories. You may need to do both but you’d be way better off just focusing on gaining muscle development and ignoring scale numbers for a while.

Sorry I replied too fast : I mean I need both fat loss and muscle gain. The weight/ scale doesn’t matter
