I've been at Tubman a few times now and can confirm that some teachers I talked to aren't happy with the principal at all. Something is definitely wrong.

Are you sure?? Someone who visited there recently told me it’s a HOT MESS.

I am sure that person said it in jest.

I have heard nothing but bad things from MVMS.

I didn't say it in jest. It's far from a hot mess.

Remember when Gaithersburg has those horrible violence coverups and then the principal went on to be a leader of the principals union. This is a common theme in MCPS. Failing upward by neglecting the safety of students, teachers, and the public. Good Job. It ruined many teaching careers.

That’s the school last year, along with Watkins Mill, that made the news about parents coming onto school grounds to fight students. It’s absolutely not a school with good energy.

WMHS does have good energy, isolated incidents outside their control don't take that away from the school

They aren’t isolated but ok. It’s not a good school as far as culture. I mean they just had a lockdown because a student who doesn’t go there snuck in and stabbed another student. But I guess we all have different priorities. I’d be worried for my child’s safety there imo.

People who pretend all is hunky dory at WMHS are burying their heads in the sand.

RHS parent here, the schools in our cluster are great. The only downsides are the high school itself and the middle school. Wood is what makes it more worse compared to the others in our cluster

I agree that Wood is weak, but my kids have been happy with RHS.

Magruder parent here, I feel like our clusters middle school is worse than yours but I have three friends who go to Rockville and all of them said that their kids had good experienced at the middle school, but the safety was horrible and the school as a whole was kinda wretched. Our MS is Shady Grove and both middle schools can compare in the same level with each other.

What has your experience been like at shady grove ES? We feed into forest oak but considering a COSA to shady grove middle

Don’t go to Forest Oak. It’s horrific. So much chaos in that school and poor administration.

Is that the new administration that is bad? Didn't FOMS just get a new principal?

The current person in charge of hiring principals for Gaithersburg isn't doing a great job. Look at a brand new school like Tubman that has so many teachers already leaving because their principal is a menace.

Nicole Sosik is the director for the Gaithersburg cluster. Many of the hires under her leadership have been questionable.

That cluster needs and deserves strong schools, just like any students, but Title I is an outright harder job than the 'average' school. Is there any data to support that she's doing a good job?

Forest Oak is a complete cesspool. Can confirm.

Well, I'm sure people have that perception of MVMS, but it's far from the truth. The staff there really cares and the kids are overwhelmingly nice. Sure, there are exceptions but they are few and far between.

I’m shocked someone said Paint Branch. I thought that was bottom of the barrel.
This was my post. I have been in the county for many years and these are schools where I have teacher friends who love where they teach and have recommended their schools. I think Op started this post in response to the SBHS thread to help those poor teachers find better work environments. It’s just a small sample, but I know a lot of teachers in the county and most would suggest not transferring to their school.
PP- Also just because the posters here look down on
PBHS doesn’t mean it’s a terrible place to work.
