Blah blah blah. My DD gradudated from UCLA last year and has a great job making six figures even after having a major that is consistently ridiculed on this board. She had an amazing college experience there and it was worth every penny. Icing on the cake was that I got to spend a lot of time in Southern California several times a year when I went to visit her.

Hard to be engaged in football when your stadium is typically over an hour away. Heck USC’s stadium is closer to UCLA than the Rose Bowl.

Still UCLA does make this list. Just a little behind Michigan.


My DD at UCLA wanted rah rah w good academics and is very happy. Going to the Rose Bowl is a pain, but she makes the trek. Also goes there for flea market sometimes as well.

That’s not a universal truth. Berkeley, UCLA, and Michigan are worth it in many cases. Florida, because the OOS tuition is already low and also happens to based on actual credit hours (which further reduces the COA for applicants with a lot of AP credits) is also worth it for many.

UF OOS at $145K through graduation vs. Pepperdine at $390K through graduation or Colgate at $370K through graduation?

C’mon now …
