Okay some updates: Well regarded non-religious VA K-8 with great placement at Catholic high schools. 3 kids admitted, 3 waitlisted. 1 of the admitted declined and 2 “actively worked the waitlist”. Both of the 2 were accepted off the waitlist, one of which got in this week. I’m not sure when the other got in.

It seems like their K-8 did a good job saying “if these 2 are accepted, they WILL enroll.”

Is this Burgundy Farm? They have sent a lot of boys to Gonzaga in recent years. I am always surprised that families move from a progressive school to a single sex Catholic school. I guess the Jesuit education is the appeal?

BF has sent 1 or 2 kids in the last few years, definitely not “a lot”

I wrote the previous post. It was not Burgundy Farm

Congressional

It’s not Congressional either. Why do you care so much? I already provided all the stats. I shared that info to provide hope while giving the kids/families privacy

In the end, our K-8 Catholic had 10 boys admitted (5 legacy/5 not), rejected 2, waitlisted 0; 8 accepted.

Accepted grades ranged A and B's. HSPT ranged 75-98%. All boys participated heavily in school and club activities including athletics, demonstrated Catholic values, community service, and committed to Gonzaga as their #1 choice. Any talk of catholic feeder schools with allocations is urban myth.

Wow, I'm actually really surprised if this is true.

I’m PP. I was really surprised too! The original notice sounded set in stone. The family is thrilled

you need to think too that 235 isnt that large. Likely they take 50 legacies automatically then 50 kids for sports recruitment. This only leaves 100ish real slots..

I think that is a really good point with the unstable job market.
