He is a taxpayer in MoCo and has probably heard enough to care to help.

Has it ever been tried to know if it is an optical theater?

Didn't the petition have Rep Raskin's name on it? What are the petition organizers planning to do with the petition? School system is broke paying off people.

DCPS high schools have them.

Metal detectors will not fix the leadership, staffing and culture problems which are at the root of MCPS's security and safety failures.

Can you elaborate on this last part?

I’m not that poster but one thing people have often pointed out is that a lot of the kids with the worst violence problems are kids who were moved from another school due to violence. They don’t expel kids or give them meaningful support to turn their lives around — they just move them to another school. I’m actually curious what they do in other school districts for the serious disciplinary probkems.

I'm all for increased safety. A gun in school is my worst nightmare. But it doesn't seem rational that metal detectors are the only answer....

I personally don’t think they are very useful. More useful would be additional security in the hallways and bathrooms and meaningful removal of disruptive kids including putting kids who are repeatedly disruptive and violent into a virtual academy where they can’t hurt people.

Sorry to the teachers that were forced out of the profession because admin wanted to fire teachers who were not ok with violence in the classroom.
