This.
The GOP will need to figure it out.
+1. I’m an essential fed and will work without pay until a shutdown is over. Even so, if a single Dem gives Republicans a vote to help them out of the hole they have dug, I will make it my mission to elect their replacement in 2026. Not we promise to make Elmo behave. Not “sure we’ll spend the money on SNAP”. Dems need to stop being Charlie Brown while Rs are Lucy with the football.
Rs need some FAFO and need to completely own whatever comes out of this budget deal. They control everything. Nancy Pelosi did it with these margins. Time for Johnson to show up what he’s got.
If it means a delayed paycheck for me, so be it.

That's fine, gives everyone time to identify the milquetoast Democrats that need to be primaried by populists in the midterms.

News articles say a budget blueprint. What is that?

Not sure what's going to happen, how can anyone know?
The only sensible thing to do is relax, try to destress and hope it'll be as less pain as possible for all of us. I think Musk intends to cut a lot if fed jobs but not all of if he does cut tons, he may play with that and put some back when he sees how things shape up.
As PP said, there's a lot if govt services and it's sometimes hard to remember how much and which provide invaluable worth to us all.
It'll be interesting to see what happens but anything is possible J would think.
They do have a plan, but it is based on a false assumption. The plan is to shrink the government so much that companies can basically take over. That magically means prosperity for all, but they really are only just focusing on their own ability to grow a huge company and run up prices while not paying workers. In reality, it will take 6-12 months at LEAST for the impact of what is happening now and going to happen later to cause a massive increase in unemployment. Companies will realize that spending is decreased and start to also lay off their employees. Initially, they will just call it being leaner and more efficient, like DOGE. Later, they will just admit that the numbers don't look good. We end up in a large recession or depression. A leader emerges for Democrats, and the people have something to rally for (getting their jobs back and economy going). How that continues is up to the planners.
