American taxpayers footed the bill for at least $1.8 trillion in federal and state health care expenditures in 2022 — about 41% of the nearly $4.5 trillion in both public and private health care spending the U.S. recorded last year, according to the annual report released last week by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

I guess the red states better prepare to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
California gets more Medicaid funding than the entire state budget of Florida.
Bootstrap that. Zero federal funding to illegal aliens and able bodied people.
I guess you are not familiar with the welfare reforms under Bill Clinton, but able bodied people haven't gotten welfare in decades. Do you know who gets most of it? Whote folks in suburbia and rural areas, mostly red states, on "disability"
You should have been paying closer attention. Almost all of these reforms were eliminated in the early days of the Obama Administration.

Trump is screwing every group except the billionaires.
We told you so.
FWIW, my parents are on Medicare.

Good idea.

California has a significantly larger population than Florida. It's also a significant part of the country's economy.
People are so dumb. 1, maybe if Florida actually spent money on stuff their budget would be bigger. Two able-bodied people and undocumented immigrants cannot get Medicaid.
Do you guys people really think they just show up at the office and say hey sign me up for that government check?
I mean I get having an opinion but at least try to be informed. Don't sound like the biggest dumb dumb on the Earth
Who the hell cares even if they aren’t “both able bodied”? We shouldn’t need to pay for services (healthcare or otherwise) for illegal immigrants no matter what their situation is.

Anonymous wrote:If they truly want to cut down on Medicaid and Medicare spending there is really only one answer: what they called “death panels” during the Obamacare debate. Over 90 percent of the health care spending a person receives occurs in the last 6 months of life. Stop keeping those old people alive so long, costs will go way down.

I'm positive that SSDI disability claims are on their list. Along with VA disability. It's all getting cut. Disabled people drag the rest of us down.

Undocumented immigrants paid $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022. Most of that amount, $59.4 billion, was paid to the federal government while the remaining $37.3 billion was paid to state and local governments.
More than a third of the tax dollars paid by undocumented immigrants go toward payroll taxes dedicated to funding programs that these workers are barred from accessing. Undocumented immigrants paid $25.7 billion in Social Security taxes, $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes, and $1.8 billion in unemployment insurance taxes in 2022.

What about old people? Make them beg at intersections to cover their doctors' bills?
Old people get Medicare. I said Medicaid.
