michigan has known feeder schools in both new york and chicago (i mean they have admitted students' days JUST for Chicago high school kids in Ann Arbor!!)
I have relatives at several privates in both cities. at one (Chicago), reportedly 15-16 kids got in (class size is under 100). at one in NYC, reportedly 12 got in. and yes, we are all texting non-stop about this.

The school specifically says they do not consider legacy. You can either choose to believe them or assume they are lying.
