The deferral (postponement) is not a rejection.

You may want to think through a LOCI strategy.

Can she attend a webinar or virtual event that could be mentioned? Any college fairs for juniors she could drop by? Have a counselor send an e-mail to AO reiterating it's her #1? I understand private school counselors do this. Don't know if publics ever do or what to say. But you can always ask.

Who knows? They don’t release this information. Just wait and see. In the meantime, try and fall in love with a school that has accepted you. One of my DC’s was postponed then rejected. Another was postponed then WL. Legacy.

You are incorrect. At least get the facts right. For fall of 2023, 52% submitted SAT 25/50/75 (1350/1470/1530) and 18% submitted ACT. (31/33/34). So 70% submitted test scores and 30% did not.

michigan has known feeder schools in both new york and chicago (i mean they have admitted students' days JUST for Chicago high school kids in Ann Arbor!!)

I have relatives at several privates in both cities. at one (Chicago), reportedly 15-16 kids got in (class size is under 100). at one in NYC, reportedly 12 got in. and yes, we are all texting non-stop about this.

DC HS class of 2022 was admitted from FCPS during early action. We attended their admitted student day for EA admits. They said the that they had only admitted like 32% of the class through early action. That included athletes, etc.

My point is to not give up yet. There are still many slots in UMich class of 2029.

The school specifically says they do not consider legacy. You can either choose to believe them or assume they are lying.

They consider legacy donors is what they mean.

UMich for OOS is a reach for all. Regardless of stats. Not a match. Not a target.
