I rather report than get hurt and then have to sue lazy mofos.

+1, I hate snitches far more than any unshoveled sidewalk. Informants and snitches were the means that millions of people were kept under the boot of leftist communist authoritarian regimes.

Snitches deserve whatever happens to them.

The Swiss Embassy is a big offender in Woodley Park and you can’t tell me it’s because they are enfeebled or can’t afford salt. Tons of people, including school kids, use that sidewalk and it’s treacherous with a hill and a curve.

DDOT needs to fine itself—its failure to de-ice sidewalks on bridges is a dereliction of duty.

I’m in full support of coming down hard on those who don’t do their part to make it safe to walk in the city.

The whole block with the swiss embassy is bad because most of the rest of it is Maret who didn't really clear the city sidewalks in front of their property either and who push all the snow from their drive way into the cross walk

You don't actually need salt today if you shoveled -- it's warm enough that nothing seems to be icing back over. Also, I shoveled the sidewalk and my steps (obviously) but didn't bother shoveling the driveway at all, since I figured the only people inconvenienced by that were me and my family, and it was still easy to get the car in and out earlier this morning.

Or just shovel it yourself. It's 20 minutes tops

Unfortunately Fairfax and Prince William counties don't have enforcement, to my knowledge.

OP here. I'm signed up with my local to help shovel for elderly people.

If someone's truly incapable, there are abundant services to help and assist the disabled and the elderly. But mostly... people who don't shovel/salt are lazy AF and refuse to make their own arrangements. I give no F's for those nasty neighbors.

Not everyone would know to call and more than elderly need help.

Why doesn't OP post the contact information for the services in each area that those in need of help could call. It seems like that would be more helpful at actually getting many of the sidewalks in residential areas cleared.

If you're on the internet, you can look that up easily. I mean for christ's sake, put in a little bit of effort into something.

Man, there are some monumentally lazy people triggered by this post. Probably the same selfish wads who don't clear all the snow off their car.

Bump. Know where to contact if your neighbor is a lazy jerk. Again.
