This is a silly comment. You could say the same thing about driving to a football game, it doesn't make football less dangerous.
It's not a silly comment at all. It's putting the risk of skiing into perspective based on the baseline risk that operates in the background.

Over the holidays I had what wasn’t even a bad fall on a beautiful day out west on a blue run and completely tore my acl and also tore my meniscus on both sides. I’m currently post op and on crutches with a full leg brace for 6 weeks and in pt for 9 mos. It’s been a painful, frustrating, expensive and super disruptive experience that is months from wrapping up. One of my teens also has a ski injury right now. Be careful out there!
