She seems like a good-hearted person (donating to food banks, treating her employees well) but I dislike her public persona - she comes across as overly curated, immature and a bit stunted. It will be interesting to see if she drops Blake Lively. As careful as she is with her image there’s no way she’s happy being dragged into her mess.
Can someone explain what's going on with her and Blake Lively? Why would they stop being friends? (Just a brief synopsis, I really don't know)

She needs to pay more attention to melody and harmony and less attention to lyrics in her writing. Her earlier stuff was enjoyable when she was more produced.
I tire of the idea that the only way to express your femininity is through ice skating costumes and gowns.
She can’t dance.
She and her parents have done an amazing job with marketing and playing to her talents.
Have you heard any of these songs? She has some beautiful melodies and harmonies:
Run (duet w/Ed Sheeran)
The Albatross
Exile (w/Bon Iver)
Nothing New (Phoebe Bridgers)
Marjorie
August
The Last Great American Dynasty
Invisible String
Anti-Hero
Clean
Please stop suggesting if I only listened to more of her music I would like it.
Do I get to have an opinion or do you shut that down?
They didn’t tell you to listen to those songs, they asked if you had ever heard them.
It seems there are a fair number of people who define TS by her early music or have only ever heard the radio hits. I was one of them. Songs like the ones mentioned above (and many others that don’t get radio play) are what made me a Swiftie.
I wont name any though since you might feel your opinion is being threatened. Lol

She's famous for donating to food banks and paying her employees very well. She brings a lot of joy to a lot of people, for sure.
Exactly. And, I appreciated she asked people to support Harris.

I'm guessing it's business.
I don't have a strong opinion of her but I side eye the constant victim and need to identify with a man so much. I'm also not a fan of her songs that attack other women (Bad Blood, the one about Camille)
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I think her music is okay. I feel like she has a deep need to create a certain image of herself with fans as one of them. She uses her fans identifying with her to advance her music sales and her image. I feel the same way about that as I did about Oprah when she had her talk show and always talked about her weight. Her hook was that we were supposed to identify with her weight struggles and want to watch her because she was like us - except she was not like us because she was worth hundreds of millions and had a national TV show. Taylor is basically the millennial musical Oprah.
This is a really interesting comparison I'd never though of. I think I like her music more than you do, but I have always been put off by her relationship with her fans and how she feeds/encourages it, and this offers some insight into why I don't like it.
