The outskirts of Cornell’s campus are terrible but the A&S area is lovely with an incredible view so I think it’s really nice for undergrads staying on campus in that area. I like Stanford’s campus but I grew up in California so perhaps it’s an acquired taste.

Yale?
You crazy bruh.
I posted this already early on the thread, Yale is so polarizing!
No. You are just obtuse.
Saying Yale is ugly is like saying Einstein was dumb.
Just nonsensical.

So many butthurt people. It’s a stuffy old college campus, not everyone’s gonna like it.
No worries.
Your kids won’t get in.

I don't understand comments about Amherst being ugly. It is not a masterpiece, but I have seen way worse like MIT.
I read the title of the thread and immediately thought of Amherst.
Yeah…Amherst is pretty dang ugly. Yeah they have the memorial hill, but the actual built environment is really ugly. The only decent building on campus is the science center, which I got a really bad coffee from. It’s a shame cause all the other lacs we toured were nicer.

I find it cold and soulless. I was also underwhelmed by Northwestern. They have a billion dollar football practice facility and a welcoming center on the lake, but the rest of it seemed drab and dated and charmless. Plus, Evanston is pretty boring. The rest of the T20 are all pretty nice.
Wow, this is so spot on. Love what you said about MIT and it somehow being part of its charm in a way that wouldn’t work for other schools. Northwestern location and welcome center is stunning. Really dislike brutalist buildings at all schools.
Cornell is sort of hodge lodge feeling. There are some buildings that are quite beautiful and setting is unique with gorges.
MIT building don't have names; they have numbers. Also part of the charm...
DP. That sounds sterile, not charming at all.
Yeah, what?
“Im going to 14”
What are you, an android going back to its pod?

Wow, I grew up in Pasadena and would regularly take visitors on tours of Caltech's campus and everyone loved the beautiful fountains and the arched walkways. It's the Spanish mission style, which I guess is not for everyone.
What do you expect from a group that thinks a center hall colonial is the utmost in home design?
