Most other people are doing this too.

Anonymous wrote:It’s not getting any warmer soon, and in fact is going to get colder. How long are you all going to not shower? WSSC is terrible and has let a water main break in silver spring fester for the last month.
Anonymous wrote:Reading this now in the bath. Sorry! I had no idea.
I’d be frantically doing all the laundry and dishes and showering to prepare for the worst.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Yes. You ATA in this case. You don’t “need” a shower.
+1.
Furthermore, the water is needed right now to fight these terrible fires.
I don’t think our water is fighting CA fires?
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I'd really rather avoid a Boil Water advisory, (no one has time for that, especially if schools have to close)
Please, let's try to conserve today.
Did they close schools in DC when DC had boil water advisories? Does a boil weather advisory always mean closing schools?
If they keep schools open and point is to conserve water, do the female students and staff who may be menstruating flush after they use the toilet? It probably doesn't say don't wash hands in this conservation effort. Not having access to soap at facilities is another topic, one that this moderator decided to delete a thread. It is true that there is not always soap in public facility bathrooms.

What say you DCUM?
Navy shower! Try it every time you shower.
Take a bath occasionally for relaxation etc.
What is a Navy shower? Is it similar to a whore's bath?

Which uses more water: hand washing dishes or running dishwasher (not today, but will need to tomorrow)?
Hand washing uses more water for an equivalently full dishwasher.
Instead of 20 minute shower; take a 10 minute.
If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down.
Delay laundry for a few days if you can.
All the stuff we lower income folks did/do.
It's no longer a lower income issue and really hasn't been for a long time, tho if you are on this site, you will think you are lower income when you see some of these posters. People are in for a very uncomfortable reality if they don't try to conserve and wake the F up to what's going on and has been going on!
