You have zero idea who the best public players are. There are maybe 2 or 3 privates that play a top 20 schedule. And half of those guys sit the bench.
Do the local privates have more than the 5 PLL players from NOVA publics in that league the last year or 2? I'm guessing yea, but curious.

In all due respect to Robinson for being a good team year in and year out... There is only 1 VA Public that has actually beaten top privates in the last 5 years. Riverside. They not only are competitive, losing 3 times to Privates by less the 5. But they have actually beaten Gonzaga and STAB.

2024: Landon would have wiped the Cadets off the field last Spring - they were dominate the final month of the season.

2023: Prep proved on the field they were the best team in the land (beat Bullis 2x by 10+ goals... a team the Cadets beat in the final minute of regulation)

2022: SJC by a mile... undefeated... best SJC team in school history... loaded 2022 class.

2021: SJC... Cadets beat Prep in the finals at end of year tournament that was hosted at Catholic U.

Let's be so real top teams versus top teams the best VA publics are smoking all these guys

The leagues are fairly even now, maybe with a slight tilt toward the IAC because it is a smaller conference. The bottom teams in the IAC (generally STA or Saint Stephens) are much stronger programs than the bottom teams from the WCAC (Ireton, O'Connell, Ryken, MacNamara).

At the upper echelon of each conference, I do believe the top teams (SJC, GZ, Landon, GP, Bullis) are pretty damn even and in any given year can beat one another.

The bottom 3 of the IAC weren't very good last year and still had a much better record against the WCAC. Even adding in the blackball, only a couple of teams played SJC every year. All of these lacrosse leagues do a pretty good job of trying to match up against like squads. The WCAC has its deepest conference in years and I expect EP and STA to be more competitive this year. No idea what SSSAS has except a new coach.

So overall, the IAC is better with 50% of the league being good whereas only about 25% of the WCAC is any good based on that format which doesn’t mean squat. Head to head it’s top 3 vs top 3.
