They are the top LACs that seem incredibly difficult to get into. Bowdoin isn't part of this group but it is right up there.
Yes, it actually is. Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, Bowdoin, Pomona. These are the top 5.
Said no one ever.
+1, Bowdoin is the highest level of the tier below the WASP schools. There’s no worthwhile opportunity you miss out on choosing a WASP over Bowdoin, but there’s so much you miss out on with choosing Bowdoin over any of the WASP colleges.
Do tell!

DD sat in on a mock upper division statistics class, and she was doing better than the student she sat next to on the in-class assessments! It was the easiest math course she sat in on; haverford has the most fast-paced class, and Williams was very challenging and theoretical.

Average Bowdoin scores and profile are a notch lower than WASP and definitely upper ivies.
??
The data on College Navigator shows test score ranges for Bowdoin, Pomona, Swarthmore, and Williams right on top of each other. It’s Amherst that’s a notch lower (and possibly Pomona, because such a small fraction of students submit test scores). Seems like your info is out of date.

It's very hard for me to process that WASP represent superior institutions in any meaningful way.
