I'm with you, pp. And as an east coast person, whenever I've gotten out west I have been absolutely blown away by the beauty. The Utah parks (which I've seen too little of!), the Grand Canyon - I want to go see more. Just need the time and money to do it!

+1 specifically an amazing whale watching trip off the cape. I've been on a lot of whale watching trips but never seen so many so close up.

For me it is taking the shuttle up to Coast Guard Beach and seeing the dunes and water as you get to the top of the hill. I've been there probably close to 100 times and it's still beautiful.

The love for MV is interesting. I really like MV but it doesn't blow me away. Oddly I like the vibe of Nantucket a lot less than MV but Nantucket is spectacularly beautiful.

Of course it all depends what blows you away. For some it is the feel of a place, or the experience they had, for others it is the geography.

Most recently---the Canadian Rockies. We were in Jasper right before the fires there and it absolutely took my breath away. Also went to Lake Louise and Banff and I just loved it all. Truly breathtaking and I'd go back for more.

Prague — I went there in wintertime in the 90s and it was magical
Dogon Country, Mali — seeing the escarpment rise out of the desert was astonishing
Ivory Coast — the purest, most unspoiled beach I’ve ever seen
Ireland
Cinque Terre — the first time I went, back in the 1990s; I’m sure it’s changed quite a bit since then

I liked Grand Tetons a lot, too. We went during wildflower season and it was beautiful, and I was more impressed by it than Yellowstone.

Wellington, Chicago and Antarctica were all pretty windy. It’s windy in Los Angeles now, but also there are fires so I would not recommend.
