Anonymous wrote:What class and age? Once I was in high school, I always knew the political beliefs of every social studies teacher I had growing up. It was a normal part of the discussion. It's not unethical for teachers to have and express opinions.

Learning to write persuasive and argumentative essays and analyze persuasive and argumentative essays is a key skill in English classes. Book reports and analytical essays are only one part of English.

I’m not concerned because I live in a very blue area. I also don’t want my students thinking that I support a racist.
