This is me. I’d be happy if I didn’t it clothes for a year, but I like to get things for my house. I tend to buy a furniture piece every other year. I use the interest free plan and pay it off before interest starts.

Per week or per month?? Per month that is reasonable. Per week that is surprising.

Produce does go bad fast but you can sort of prioritize. Like we will eat berries first, then apples and oranges, then bananas. Applesauce and fruit cups when we haven’t been to the store for awhile. Same with vegetables. I cook greens and mushrooms first, cucumbers go fast so I cut those up for salads or snacks as soon as possible then peppers. You can extend the life of whole carrots and celery by wrapping them in foil before putting them in the fridge.

I’m really sorry about the loss of your mom. I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate the items you donate. If you don’t belong to a Buy Nothing Facebook group, they are great and the people come and get the stuff so you don’t have to wonder if it is sitting at Goodwill. Re-read auto insurance policy abd realized I was paying for roadside assistance eventhough I have AAA (and I think I might still have coverage from Honda too -3x coverage). Ugh.

Doing a lot of small things which I feel adds up - left over/undrank water in kids' water bottles used to water my inside garden (herbs) or used for soaking pans.

Air drying clothes for a few hours and then putting them in the dryer.

Last year I turned off the car a/c and switched to the vent (there was plenty of cold air still left to be comfortable) when I was within 2 miles of destination to save on fuel and wear/tear on car.

Various savings program which I can double-stack discounts - Shell, grocery stores, using gift cards + the app, etc.

Cancelled Prime, buying vintage and used clothes, refusing to buy plastic crap for holidays which I was already kind of doing anyway. If I need goody bags, they are paper or wood toys. Instead of buying more storage I am purging.

I am not buying anything - I had a lifestyle change (remote work) three years ago and bought some sundresses and casual accessories and don’t think I need anything at all right now. I have many leftover PTO days and want to take a few trips this summer with the kids (quality time!) and buy an investment property if that ever happens. But clothes, stuff etc - I don’t need or want anything.

I'm on the buy nothing bandwagon for 2025. Starting slowly with no food waste, using up what we already have, shopping in my closet, etc. Oh, and I canceled a bunch of subscriptions. Hoping to use Libby instead.

True. Last year I only bought clothes if I needed something specific for an event.

I wrote out all my expenditures from last January. Figured out where I should cut and big items I had to watch. Last year I spent $500+ at coffee shops. So far this year I purchased one coffee and it was with the random dollars from the laundry.
