I regret shoveling last night while snow was still falling - I should have stuck to my plan and waited until this morning to avoid creating ice where I walked as I shoveled.
But in the other hand, it was a lot of snow to move and I'd still be put there now if I hadn't done it last night.
Still no visit from a county plow in my cul-de-sac just outside the Beltway.

You have your own plow? Or you shoveled or used a snowblower.

In many areas it snowed late last night into early morning. But yes, that wind was blowing too.

Plowed 7-8 inches yesterday and with wind last night, wind gusts drifted 2 inches back on.

Some people use sand.

I believe it's probably urea which shouldn't damage cured concrete.

Yep. Several neighbors of ours made their concrete driveway aprons all pock marked with rock salt and are pissy the county won't replace the apron for them. They are claiming its "defective." And the county is like, "no you are a moron."

Our landscaper specifically told us not to use chemicals on flagstone walk.

Skip the salt. Use sand if you need to lay down something. In this area, any and all salt will wash into the Potomac and then the Bay, leading to blooms and then dead spots.

Sorry, I use "pet-safe" salt, and I'm pregnant with a sled dog who pulls like crazy. I will put myself first this winter, so I don't lose the baby if the dog makes me fall on the ice that will accumulate if I don't salt my walkway.

Being pregnant with a dog must be a world first. How did that happen?

We did a first pass around 1 pm. It is not clear if I will need to get to work tomorrow or not.
