Except VT has more snow and more terrain but okay. Enjoy Pennsylvania.

Criminal? It’s a leisure activity. We are talking about eggs and milk here. The prices are, by definition, what the market will bear. If not, there wouldn’t be demand for skiing. Skiing (or vacationing in general) is not an entitlement.

We just got back from Alta/Snowbird. I won’t argue with anyone that skiing isn’t the realm of the UMC and above. We love it. We only have 1 kid and Ikon passes and we still spent a ton.

The ski patrollers are essential. They aren’t just out there skiing for fun. They do lots of safety work to make sure the mountain is safe forever everyone. I’m on the ski patrol side because they deserve the raise. We can afford our vacations but it isn’t pocket change to us. I would be pissed if my vacation got ruined.

Yes, the ski patrol has reasonable demands. They are chronically underpaid and have huge responsibilities. Vail is refusing to meet their salary demands - which I believe amounts to 4K per year.

There are often picket lines at hospitals. Lots of money flows through those places too...

There are 200 ski patrol at Park City. They are asking for $2 more an hour. So a total cost of $400 per hour if everyone works (which they do not). Do you know how much money this resort makes? It is appalling that they are screwing over people who make $21/hour to save $400. Appalling.
