We keep the house at 68 and it is cold but we layer up and when o work from home I use a space heater in a small room. Maybe she could use a space heater? Growing up my parents also had the thermostat on at 68 and I complained a lot.

She is frequently wrong but rarely in doubt

Haha. That sounds exactly like my little sister.

We do 70 at night and 72 during the day. That seems to keep most people, old and young, comfortable.

Do you have a thermometer? My thermostat is set to 68 but I had a digitial thermometer out and it turns out several of my rooms are 64.

Same here. Grew up in New England, freezing in the winter and no A/C in the summer.

Fortunately my family of six all like the house cold. In the winter, we keep our house at 63 at night! I do like the A/C in the summer, though.

Please ask the vet for advice. The tortoise didn’t ask to be a pet and doesn’t deserve to be a pawn in this power struggle.

My DH prefers 62-64 and I prefer 72. We spend our days passing the thermostat and turning it up to 68'or down to 64. I envy a steady 69!

Is calling a girl a sissy even an insult?

We keep our heat at 66 and my 9yo daughter freaks out if it gets close to 70 - too hot

I have been gradually working my way to lower temps. I am now comfortable at 59 degrees with a light cotton sweater / cardigan unbuttoned over a T-shirt.

It’s so interesting the temps people find comfortable. I keep my home at 66 daytime and 62 overnight. Seems y’all wouldn’t survive in my place.

I'm sympathetic if you are overweight or have hot flashes, OP. It's unpleasant to be too hot and at some point there are no layers you can remove to get comfortable. But before I aged and hit mesopause I was also the skinny 22 y/o who froze to death all summer at work because my coworker kept the AC blasting every day. Try to find a balance for your daughter to be comfortable.
