I don’t love it, but this isn’t the huge miscarriage of justice the “Harris Voters” posting here are making it out to be.
Come on. Do you know how many people in the US are out there that have served 13 out of 16 years for crimes that hurt a lot fewer kids than this and yet were not pardoned? This is indefensible and it’s okay to say that even if you are a Biden/Harris voter.
Nope. I truly don’t think this is the worst. It’s not great, but let’s be real - all
The super concerned posters here didn’t know he has served time. They didn’t know he would be out in a couple of years anyway, and that he’s over 70.
He sucks, but this just isn’t that big of a deal. This is typical Twitter outrage. Lacking details and context. You people are boring.
Why are you making excuses for this? Don't you think we as a society can do better than this? That maybe there are plenty of people deserving of mercy FAR more than this piece of scum? Why in the hell does he get pardoned and get to convalesce at home, while plenty of other poorer far less destructive people rotted in their cells, even with Covid? Why is THIS the guy that gets a break? How many elderly black men have DIED in prison for low level crimes? This is disgusting and you know it.

Biden is torching his legacy in his last few weeks and it is mystifying. This is one of the worst presidential pardon that has ever happened.
It’s a nightmare pardon. The judge is a monster. He caused innocent children to be jailed/imprisoned for money. What the hell?
I genuinely don’t understand fellow Democrats defending this.
He was done in August 2026 anyway and just part of a blanket commutation. Should have been fussing made about being sent to home confinement in 2020 if it’s that big of a deal.
The other judge involved, Mark Ciavarella who received most of the finger pointing from the families and media, isn’t due for release until 2035. It seems as though they have been melded into one person by the commenters in this thread.
The whole original situation is disgusting. These two judges seem to be the only ones involved that actually paid any actual price for the lives ruined by many.

Joe Arpaio has been accused of numerous types of police misconduct, including abuse of power, misuse of funds, failure to investigate sex crimes, criminal negligence, abuse of suspects in custody, improper clearance of cases, unlawful enforcement of immigration laws, and election law violations. A Federal court monitor was appointed to oversee his office's operations because of complaints of racial profiling. The U.S. Department of Justice concluded that Arpaio oversaw the worst pattern of racial profiling in U.S. history, and subsequently filed suit against him for unlawful discriminatory police conduct. Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) were named as defendants in dozens of civil lawsuits brought by citizens arrested by Arpaio and his deputies alleging wrongful arrest, wrongful death, entrapment and other claims, costing taxpayers in Maricopa County over $140 million in litigation against Arpaio during his tenure as sheriff
Trump’s second pardon
Kristian Mark Saucier(born c. 1986) is a former U.S. Navy sailor who was convicted of unauthorized retention of national defense information and sentenced to one year in prison in October 2016 for taking photographs of classified engineering areas of USS Alexandria (SSN-757), a nuclear-powered attack submarine, in 2009. President Donald Trump pardoned Saucier on March 9, 2018
Trump’s third pardon
From 2001 to 2005, Libby held the offices of Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs, Chief of Staff to the Vice President of the United States and Assistant to the President during the administration of President George W. Bush.
In October 2005, Libby resigned from all three government positions after he was indicted on five counts by a federal grand jury concerning the investigation of the leak of the covert identity of Central Intelligence Agency officer Valerie Plame Wilson. He was subsequently convicted of four counts (one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury, and one count of making false statements), making him the highest-ranking White House official convicted in a government scandal since John Poindexter, the national security adviser to President Ronald Reagan in the Iran–Contra affair.
Etc let jump to
Trump granted clemency to five of his former campaign staff members and political advisers: Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Stephen K. Bannon, and George Papadopoulos. Trump's grants of clemency were criticized by the federal agents and prosecutors who investigated and prosecuted the cases.
These are bad, but none of them destroyed the lives of children the way the kids for cash judge did.

He RUINED people's lives! Sold them to a for profit prison for money. When are we going to stop making excuses for these people? They're no better than common street criminals, and should be treated as harshly if not worse. THIS kind of crime is destroying the social contract.
