I have always voted for her and appreciate her service. We saw her at a public event this year, and it is quite clear that she is no longer able to serve. I actually felt bad about voting for her because it sort of felt like elder abuse. She deserves a peaceful retirement.

I truly think that before any of you comment on whether or not she should run, you should go and see her in person.

OP Ed from the WaPo editorial board too. Good, I say.

Does Brazille need a grift?

Apparently Brazile is one of Norton’s close longtime friends and it’s embarrassing enough that Norton hasn’t retired that she had to publish it.

She is. The fact that she had to make it public says how much Norton is trying to hold onto the role.

I mean, it's a fairly meaningless seat without her particular skill set and connections. I think she'll stay in it until she can't.

If there had been someone "with it" this last budget cycle, DC may not have ben forced to cut a billion dollars from the budget, so, not meaningless.

I’ve called her office several times and asked if she has a succession plan and they all seem dumbfounded. One staffer did kind of giggle and say yeah I’ve been thinking that as well.

What type of person could primary her? I’m almost considering trying to do an AOC type takeover but I’m no young person myself I’m 60 I guess compared to her almost 90 years old.

I’m so sick of these old farts in Congress. Anyone know of someone who might run?

David Hogg

Who is that? I think someone like Brooke Pinto is more likely. Other politicians with citywide name recognition are not likely to primary EHN and thus annoy Dem party leadership in the process. Someone like Pinto could have a real shot in a primary. Pretty decent name recognition if you follow DC politics, but doesn’t seem as invested in the Dem party apparatus (I could be wrong on this; I don’t actually know her and I’m not a constituent).

David Hogg is a Parklabd High School shooting survivor and co founder of March For Our Lives. Until recently, he was a Vice Chair for the DNC

Too white. Too male. Too young.

Too crazy

She's well into the "she can't" territory now, and she's encroaching on Weekend at Bernie's.

She has every intention of running, but she could be forced out. She is past her peak.
