This article is BS. The majority of Swedish men don’t earn enough to support themselves let alone a gf. And from Vilma’s previous jobs it’s obvious she does not have any qualifications. So more than likely she’s unemployed or on some kind of stress disability which is common with Nordic youth. Either way she’s receiving some kind of financial support from the government.

And if Vilma was really living that life, she would get that botched nose job fixed.

When pricing is set with the expectation of a two income household, that's easier said than done. Careers that could support a stay at home parent a generation or two ago can't anymore.

What we currently have isn't working out either and obviously we can't go back to what was, we need to keep evolving and find family friendly alternatives as not everyone is cut out for or willing to stay on hamster wheel of industrial consumerism for corporations.

That's why every family needs to earn, save and invest and insure so if needed you've a backup plan. This option isn't for broke people with debt.

For once in my life I feel ahead of the trend! I have been a SAHM since 2008 and became minimalist shortly after. I'm happy for these people that they are realizing a calmer, simpler life without so much consumerism can be extremely fulfilling.

Men have a tendency not to value domestic labor. And unfortunately many lose interest as women age.

Trad relationships work wonderfully when the man absolutely loves the woman and values her contribution to the household. My parents’ relationship is like that. But even they advised me not to ever depend on a man or give up my income.


Yes. For women in countries like ours without a social safety net, its not a choice. However, when there are choices, women AND men should be free to choose.


I live in Canada, so something in between the US and Sweden when it comes to a social safety net. And a woman doing this here would be a terrible idea.

It's when you're alone and want a dinner that is easy, usually doesn't involve cooking or cleanup, and wouldn't be considered a "real meal" by a lot of people. So like, a glass of wine and some cheese/charcuterie with a hunk of baguette.

I absolutely hate this. It's so regressive. Like a woman alone does not merit a full home cooked meal. I get being tired and not wanting to cook, but OTOH it's implying women should subsist on air and a few handfuls of popcorn, and actual meals are just for men/families. I am single and enjoy cooking healthy hot meals. I can save the leftovers for tomorrow and/or know how to make quick meals in less than 10 minutes. I deserve a home cooked meal at the end of the workday as much as anyone else!


And I’m single and don’t give a shit about having a hot meal. I’ve apparently been “girl eating” my whole life. It’s not a comment on how much I value myself, I promise.


I’m married and don’t give a damn about this cooking a “hot meal” stuff. And when my husband wants one, he can make it himself.

He often chooses crackers and peanut butter and cereal. I guess that is “boy dinner”?

We are both lawyers and don’t have any time for any of this stuff. And it’s fine.


Its fine for you but some other people might want a different pace of life where they enjoy timely healthy meals and do give a damn about spending time together. They can hire someone or cut down work hours or whatever else works for them.

Radical feminism as you call it is really demanding human rights for half the human population


Actually… women were never considered property before the advent of agriculture and heritable land rights. Hunter gatherer cultures have historically been (and still are) the most egalitarian societies in human history, even with their very specific gender roles.
