this had to happen after higher commission rates for so long. There is no business that pays that much for the middle man without any kind of expertise.

So glad the disintermediation is finally happening. I looked into getting my realtor credentials to sell/ buy my house. Problem was that the Listing realtor got the 5 or 6 percent, and would not have to share the 3% with me as a buyer not associated with a. brokerage firm. They kind of determined the break up of the fees. 1.5% to each agent x2 and another 1.5% to each real estate brokerage x2. Definitely felt it was a parasite on the transaction. Realtors are helpful for your first transaction for a home and a new area. Not worth the expense when you know what you are doing (usually after your first transaction).
