The Jewelry-to-Covet List

The Perfect Pearls: Mikimoto pearl earrings, $710

The Pendant Necklace: Foundrae Karma Champlevé necklace, $2,640

The Diamond Necklace: Graff Icon round diamond pendant necklace, $3,100

The Arm Candy: David Yurman classic cable bracelet, $3,900

The Logo Watch: Bulgari Bulgari watch, $3,800

The Diamond Earrings: De Beers Aura earrings, $5,200

Yes, by all means ... buy your teenager $700 pearl earrrings and a $2600 pendant necklace. FFS. This is ridiculous.

Not a12 year old but an 18 year old who is responsible would love a pair of classic pearl earrings.

I know some parents think that their daughter and friends are trendsetters with their Uggs and Lululemon and no teen could possibly have different ideas but there are plenty of girls who would appreciate starting a collection of quality jewelry to build on over the years

You can get 8mm Hanadama earrings for significantly less than that.

Gorjana

I got my daughter Gorjana earrings and a link charm necklace for her 15th birthday. She’s not a big jewelry wearer but she has been wearing the earrings everyday and has worn the necklace a few times.

My daughter wears hers for swim practice 🙄 and it still looks good a year later.

* and wealthy southern sorority girls. These girls stack designer bracelets like it’s nothing but DY is one of the common less expensive brands I see a ton of them wearing

Yes, but "I got this $1k bracelet from my mom" -- where "from my mom" obviously means it was her mom's -- is a thing with southern sorority girls. It's a "my mother wears expensive jewelry" flex. It's basically an old-lady chic thing that is going to play well during rush at Bama, but not at McLean high school.

These days More than half of the girls at Bama are from out of state, and a quiteca bit percentage from the DMV mid Atlantic and Northeast

Yes, but Bama culture is Bama culture. And the girls from out of state who rush are more than well aware of it because the whole reason they are there in the first place is rushtok.

This is what girls wear at my child's school as well. Mostly VCA and Cartier. Very common.

I’m seeing a number of teenage girls wear the silver Tiffany heart tag necklace.

Teen girls and young women don't want any of that stuff (leaving aside those prices).
