Barf.
It’s not an amazing gift. Someone sold their eggs to you because they were desperate. You are benefiting from someone else’s misery. This is no better than selling your kidney.

After weeks of staring at the same donors that no one wants (they are frankly unattractive, have short fathers, one has a clearly genetic thyroid disorder, etc.), I peeked at the 1:1 and 1:2 donors and they are gorgeous. WTF?!?! How did I miss the memo? I thought it was just to get more eggs in one cycle, or exclusive rights to that batch. I feel angry and duped. I did see ONE smart and attractive 1:3 come and go in about 12 hours but she didn’t match our ethnicity closely enough. Anyone able light to shed on this revelation? I’d like to hear about your DC selection process. I am so mad and need a little hope right now. I have put in a list of pointed questions to my coordinator to try to understand reality better now that another layer of this agonizing process has been peeled back.

I'm a recipient and I am sorry for your bad experience. I wasn't successful at Shady Grove and believe me they treat the recipients as bad as the donors once they have your money. I was never listened to and complaints (one very serious) were ignored. We were on the shared risk program and after three attempts they seemed to lose interest in me, probably because now the odds were no longer in their favor and they were losing money. Stay away, there are much better places where you are treated with respect and not like a battery hen.
