Evidence yesterday suggests they'd be around the 25th or 26th ranked team based on last year's results. There were good 2028 players who left for MD teams before middle school. For the recent high school tryouts, ALL of the best remaining players tried out for Capital and every one who made the top team accepted the offer.
The 2028 Blue team surprisingly tied Hero's yesterday, so probably slightly less squirming today. Play day games mean nothing and Capital will still likely struggle this year, but there definitely seems to be potential to compete with top teams.
Most of the good players tried out for M&D teams summer before 7th grade, and a few tried out the following summer. ALL of the best remaining players tried out for Capital and every one who made the top team accepted the offer. That is what happened.
To add, not one of those players that left came back to tryout for Capital. The Capital cheerleaders in here don't want to hear that.
Maybe it had absolutely nothing to do with Capital at all? If they found a great team to be on that fits them then why leave? Capital is doing just fine as evidenced yesterday.
Anonymous wrote:Let’s take this back to the 29s….who hear thinks MNDDC will be able to overtake BLC this year? They made a lot of moves to make that happen but as the score showed this weekend, it still isn’t happening. One has to think if they have the “best girls” from the area and still can’t score a W against BLC, what’s the problem? Maybe coaches?

Having a bunch of loyal and enthusiastic supporters is one of the benefits of being an established club vs. a startup.
You don't have a 2029 team. Can't you at least wait until the fall season is over and give the 29 parents a break?
How do you know there are not some ‘29 parents on here?
Who I responded to : "loyal supporters".
They are the same takes, and the same words, that have permeated every thread for several years. As was said, they are locusts.
Yeah, they just got done playing their first games of the fall. What they wanted to do was come on and make dozens of posts about how great Capital is on Monday instead.

It happened with the 24, 25s and the 26s... Both clubs are great and have wonderful families and players on them. Capital will be a top 10 team. Capital uses the equal playtime model, so that can reduce the ranking a bit where these other teams play the top players more so they will win more games, but at the end of the day college coaches are not really focusing on the ranking as much as how the team plays together and how the particular player that they're interested in recruiting plays.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:They are really incredible. The “we play everyone on the roster” excuse is lame. So does m&d and heros in HS, it is part of their sales pitch regarding college recruiting.
Equal playtime is very different than playing everyone some of the time. Capital's model is as close to splitting time as possible, which mans the best players sit roughly half the time. Hero's and M&D may try to give game opportunities to the whole team, but I am not aware they are as rigid as Capital on splitting time - especially with their stars. Right or wrong, Capital is more focused on recruiting than winning games, whereas other teams may place greater emphasis on winning.
Lol, this is just cope bc capital isn’t on the same level as m&d and heros.
The game in HS is recruiting and the smart local players know that Capital is second to none in this area. I hate to do this because there is an entire thread on the topic, but here is the tracker of the 2026 recruits. I think you are right - Capital does seem to be on a different level.

Warning: You are about to enter an alternate universe where playing college lacrosse at Harvard is not that impressive because it expensive (ie, only for rich people), and also not a top lacrosse program. Have fun!
