No, it didn't end up being used as a staging location because of concerns about the roof
It was clearly in bad condition if the roof just peeled off that like. I'd seen reports that it was the worst MLB stadium to begin with.

I’m dumbfounded on how anyone could read that article and then stay for Milton in an evacuation zone. All of those who does either made bad last second decisions once they had saved themselves (lady going back for the cat) or seemed to want to go down with the ship (their house).
