"College towns revolve around college sports." LOL, no.
You think Chapel would be the same without UNC basketball? Blacksburg wouldn’t be on the map if not for VT football.
That may be true for some schools but it’s not true for most.
Can you name college towns in which NCAA sports do play a major role in the town?

This is actually a college town so it certainly should be considered. Is there any sophisticated culture in Happy Valley? Places like Charlottesville and Athens are hard to beat because they have the college feel but also a legitimate art scene, etc. Did any famous bands originate in State College?
