I loved White Flint when my kids were little - their dentist was there, and a ride on the little train was their treat after. It was also really great for errands - I remember a post office, a Hallmark, a toy store, Borders.

my first apartment was around there and this was at peak 2000s mall culture. white flint had all the stores I needed and I would go around with my coupons and collect my free stuff...which was great for a young adult on a budget. I'd even day dream about meeting a guy in the new non fiction section of that borders...but no such luck.

The Santa there was AMAZING. And my kids loved riding the train.

The Eatery. My memories of helping my beautiful mom select things for her work from Lord and Taylor. I miss the old old White Flint, it was a pleasant space.

Wow. Great story. I used to stop at White Flint around that time...had to go up to NIST for meetings and coming home I would go shop. I got a wonderful black Remy leather blazer type jacket as a birthday present for myself. It was $600, an incredible splurge, but I had always wanted a leather jacket. I still have it and feel "rich" every time I wear it with jeans and a cashmere sweater. I am a bit older than you, 17:01.

I worked at Lord & Taylor in the fall and winter of 1986 . It was a wonderful place ! It could have been a coming-of-age movie for me I was in my early twenties. I quit college at the end of the summer semester and moved to the Washington DC area and found a job in the men and boys clothing section of Lord & Taylor. That year I believe was the year that the perfume Poison came out by Christian Dior. And walking through the women's section on the way to the men's clothing area smelled so good they had all their perfumes out and the well to do ladies were all in there spritzing themselves and the place smelled wonderful. The whole Mall smelled great it was the fall with October and then Thanksgiving and then Christmas all the baked goods it was a grand place with the glass elevators. I love my job there I learned so much from the older Associates that work there. The main guy in charge the big boss was Mr Johnson. And there was a tall elegant lady with dark hair that always wore dresses she was second in command I had more interactions with her she was probably 20 years older than me but she was a beautiful woman and I secretly had a crush on her. I met a woman there that I will never forget she was about 10 years older than me probably mid 30s we became friends and then it became more than friends she taught me the ways of the world if you will. She opened my eyes to so much I will never forget her. I don't work in retail, after Christmas I ended up going back to college, I finished several degrees and I live in Colorado, at work to break the ice I always ask my patience so where are you from, every now and then I get someone that says I'm from Maryland and I always say do you remember the White Flint Mall. And most of them do a lot of them are from that area and know it well and we talk about the White Flint Mall. I'm almost 67 years old getting close to retirement age. And every now and then my heart and mind will hearken back to my early twenties when I was working at the White Flint Mall and it always puts a smile on my face. The people I met there the job itself the mall walking through the mall. To this day when a woman has on poison by Christian Dior I know it right away. The White Flint Mall will always have a place in my heart it is one of my life's Fondest Memories!
