I don't think we'll be going back to that restaurant any time soon. I don't need to be creeped out when I'm spending a lot of money at a restaurant.

What is bizarre is you thinking it's "bizarre" and "so disturbing" that a restaurant manager might have an urgent need to use a bathroom like other humans sometimes do.

Seriously, maybe she had recently had a colonoscopy and was experiencing some after-affects, or maybe switched birth control pills and was having breakthrough bleeding.

A restaurant manager got the runs and needed to use the bathroom urgently. So disturbing! So creepy! So bizarre!

Or she had her period unexpectedly. Or she is pregnant and felt nauseated.

Last time I ordered Chik Fil A delivery for the kids and a babysitter it was $65! With HS sitters wanting $20/hr I will make food at home for the kids before we go out and the sitter can Uber eats extra food with the $120-160 I am paying them if they don’t like what I have in the fridge.

I get sweetgreen and chop’t every week in dc and pay $13.

Yes, but we've replaced it with prepared food from grocery stores which are cheaper. Prepared soups from Trader Joe's. Rotisserie chickens from Wegmans etc. Starbucks has always seemed like a big waste of money to me, but I'm not a coffee conneisseur and I know some people are. I do miss our weekly Sweet Green though. It was healthy and delicious but it's gotten so expensive for a family of four, we do it rarely. We still love our Taco Bell though!

We used to eat 4 days of the week out. Now we eat 2 meals out per week.

Stop saying “eating out” in this context!

Go away.

Yes, a lot of the prices I see just aren't worth it anymore, so I'm happy to eat at home.

Chipotle costs almost as much as a decent sit down restaurant, so skipping chipotle is a no brainer to me.

We stopped going out almost 3 years ago, it is cost prohibitive to us. We used to grab Chopt salads regularly for lunch, and now it is $38 for two salads. No thank you. We only go once a year to a nice restaurant to celebrate each other birthdays. Economy sucks.

I stopped getting breakfast out myself, it use to be for money but now it’s on principle, breakfast $30 out? $4+ for coffee?

That amount could help fund 10 years of a kid's education in a developing part of the world. 10 years!

And yet it can’t fund even a couple months of college education here in the great US of A

We have cut back a lot. We never ate out a ton but even ordering takeout is so expensive now. Plus the quality isn’t even that great. I can make way better food at home, even simple stuff. As a family of four we have seen our income increase these last few years but rising costs have made it feel like a wash. When we decided to tighten our belts eating out was the first thing to go. This is why people don’t want to hear “oh, inflation is fixed.” To a middle class person, this economy just still feel like it sucks and hearing how great it is all the time just pissed me off.
