I'm sorry, OP.

I'm tall and muscular and have always been a size 10-12. One time I was coming out of a gas station mart with a package of those Hostess donuts because I absolutely love them and I get them like once a year and some guy pumping gas said "enjoy your donuts, fatty!" I was shocked. I've never otherwise been the victim of sizeism and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why some stranger felt the need to yell at me. It stung at first and then I realized that he must just be a miserable human being and I let it go. I actually haven't thought about it for years until I read your post.

I hope you move past this and find something beautiful today that makes you smile.

I just got back from shopping at Marshall’s, and I’m a liberal highly educated upper middle class professional woman.

But to your point, OP, I am sorry that happened to you. I hope that at some point you can see that her comment had nothing to do with you, and everything to do with her.

My mother has millions of dollars and shops at Marshall’s, Ross, Aldi etc. She’s just cheap, not poor, and definitely not a trumper. I find it’s mostly immigrants in there, maybe some poor nurses and teachers mixed in.

Ha, I am an immigrant and former teacher and shop there, though mostly at TJ Maxx these days. I'm also not poor.

Yep, pretty much. Same with Lane Bryant - all trumper plus-size'rs.

Because trumpers tend to be uneducated and low income. So they skew fatter than people who have degrees and are higher earners - who themselves skew Democratic. This isn’t exactly a secret. Most trumpers are obese and in very poor health.

Some companies do that on purpose to create a sense of exclusivity for their target audience. In Lululemon's case that is skinny people, so they can feel superior and special.

I haven’t noticed that as much as they hire very young people who don’t really have people skills and don’t really care to help that much. Pretty much true at any retail establishment these days.
