I have a friend who is gay, as is his identical twin brother, their sister, and their mother.

Or it’s more prevalent than people think, and kids feel safer coming out nowadays.

Many of my former high school/college classmates (from the ‘80s) have come out in recent years, and they’re not on Tik Tok.

Lately I have begun wondering if my dad was actually gay and his father as well. My mom was also best friends with our neighbor who later left her husband and married a woman so there are things to wonder about there. She told me she never wanted to get marry and have children and would have been fine if she hadn’t. (Great thing to hear as a child.)

. I had a gay cousin as well. My brother claims he is straight but he sure wasn’t in college! He married at 34 due to social pressure.

So 2/6 in my generation and 3/13 in the subsequent generation if you look at cousins. Appears to be a pattern, appears to be passed down. Mostly among the men.



Another possibility since you are catholic is child s3x abuse via the clergy at church.

Agree that it's not a fad or trend. People that say that hate queer people and think that there's something wrong with being queer. LGBT people are just as normal as everyone else. If people don't think that queer people are normal then they need to evaluate their own hateful bias but of course they probably would never admit it to themselves. People love to believe they are always right about everything and don't make mistakes, especially if that's what was taught by their family.

Doing math:

If we assume that the probabilty of any one person being homosexual is 1/10, then the probability that three people selected at random would meet that criterion would be 1/1000. Which is to say that it is not all that rare, but that it is unlikely that you know anyone else who has three children in that situation.

Also, OP has a sample size of one, and weird things happen with small sample sizes. The chances of flipping a coin and getting "heads" ten times in a row is about the same (1/1024).

Being queer is not a fad. Some kids are leaning into that crowd I think because it is more prevalent in our schools and society. But when it comes down to it, if you are going to be living your life as a queer person the "fad" isn't going to continue. Just keep letting your kids be who they are and love them. That is all that matters.

So, if this is a big factor, and I think it could be, it would be causing movement in one direction (feminization). So this could cause more males to become less masculine and possibly identify as gay or trans-feminine. It is unlikely to be causing more masculine females. Not sure how the science would work on that.
