I graduated at DAR way back in 1989. It was fine. No issues (my graduating class had 455 students). Attended my nieces graduation at UMBC last June and the drive was easy, parking a delight, seating and acoustics fine. It seemed like a perfect place to hold a graduation.

DC's school did this and it was horrible. Only 2 guests, in the hot sun. They had no time for any speeches so even the principal spoke for about 1 minute. Felt lucky no one was hurt or an older parent did not collapse.

Even better then if there are fewer and shorter speeches. No one cares that point. Just call graduates' names. Done.

Did high schools even make the decisions this year? We heard nothing about it beforehand this year, but last year there was a fair amount of discussion at our high school, and a poll sent out to senior parents and students.

Was last graduation the first time that many HSs held ceremony at UMBC?

Did any HS petition to move venue for upcoming 2025 graduation ceremony (UMBC to home school field, or DAR to UMBC..)?
