First I'm sorry to hear the constant frustration from families as they come here for information or solace for their grievances. Sadly the boys/girls league and clubs and the college coaches act in alignment to get your money. and fewer clubs in the area only strengthen the hands of these people to be unaccountable.
Second I only share this because families need to understand who runs this club and not misunderstand their coach's role on all this - the coach decides playing time and not much else so if the "bad team culture" or "bad communication" or "broken promises" is your beef make sure you place accountability on the actual club leadership.
Third for families entering the recruitment phase also don't misunderstand these ASA adults who are taking money from your family to pay their mortgages care at all about your kid. They will promote your kid success for the club benefit and ignore your kid if there are struggles. If your kids goal is to play soccer in college at ASA or elsewhere good luck to you; if you're kid is not actually playing at highest level and you are paying and college recruitment is not a realistic goal I'd suggest you find another way to spend your kids time and your money. These people want your money and will keep you on the hook any way possible.

German Peri does little to nothing. Dead weight making six figures. The guy's an overpaid garden gnome.

I think it fine to critique, but let's be fair - no one in these roles will ever be successful in the eyes of many in this competitive area. There will always be haters... who, it also seems, think these individuals shouldn't be paid a living wage for this area.

I have no issue with the Arlington leadership making a decent wage (in this area those wages aren't totally off the mark)--especially if they are running an efficient operation that makes sound decisions related to their soccer programming. At minimum, Arlington seems the most stable and operatoinal of the local clubs.

I'll tell you what is shocking though from this thread- McLean leadership makes that same kind of money when their work led to the anihilation of a soccer club that had been around for 20+ years. Let's be real about pay for performance- these leadership people were asleep at the wheel. They gave up their top 200 players and top 12 teams--willingly. They gave up voting rights and decision making. They enabled a takeover without regard for club sustainability. In any other company leaders with that type of dismal performance would have been managed out due to poor performance and abysmal negotiation. Against that backdrop, Arlington salaries are a real steal....

Great observation regarding mclean leadership maintaining positions after a massive loss as was the ECNL platform. Some of those folks no longer with FVU but now solely with Mclean maintain their high salaries when the club technically has fewer teams and is bringing in less due the loss of those teams.

Why not? Non-profit doesn't mean you can't make a profit, you just can't share it the way you would in a traditional company. Everything in this world is about making money.

I have two kids that have gone through Arlington, and I’ve seen German a lot over the years. Pretty sure that, at least for him, this is not about the money. He had a separate career in some corporate job for years and did pretty well, so I don’t think he fits the mold of “washed up player with no job prospects”.

These salaries seem on par around the clubs. Let's be honest, living here is not cheap. Directors aren't going to make $50K.
The bigger question to me is, what about the support staff- DOCs, administrative people, etc?
What do "regular" coaches make for a team?
