This allowed me to complete marathons with my final miles faster than my early miles and still way better times than just running alone.

I do intervals. After 30 years of jogging my body is really bagged up. I need new knees and my ortho said this is a directly result of running, which is a truly horrible way to exercise. Intervals is all i can do until i get new knees. Probably will need new hips by age 60.

dc summer heat. not unusual for even very good runners to get 2-5 miles into a route they could breeze through in the winter and decide that walking rather than pushing through makes sense for them.
