Not entirely accurate. League games were played. Some teams but not all were withdrawn from post season tournaments. Seems like club leadership was careful to allow regular season to conclude but all bets were off for post season games.
What are you talking about? There was no advance notice. Who sends an email effectively ending the season at 12:01am? No one knew the game that was played earlier that day was the last time the team would play together. The only teams that weren’t withdrawn from tournaments (there were four) were teams staying at ROSA next season. Please stop drawing some arbitrary distinction between league games and tournaments. Our season, contractually, was to run through mid-June and that wasn’t upheld.

We loved our time in Rosa and wish things would have ended better (like any marriage). The coach in question (that was also the director of the boys side) is one of the best communicators that I have seen in youth sports. My son loves playing for him and has improved by leaps and bounds under his care. When I told my son that the coach was moving to Potomac next season and that we could "shop around" and look at many options, he refused. He was adamant about sticking with his coach. My son feels that, through hard work, he has learned the system that the coach likes to run, has earned his trust and will continue playing the same position after a season perfecting it. A new coach, would in many ways, mean starting from scratch for him.
Personally, I could care less what academy he is playing at, but I do care about the coach and this coach has done right by my kid every time.
It is indeed sad that the season was finished abruptly, but life goes on.
I am sure Rosa will recover from this in a few years. They had a great thing going and they can do it again once cooler heads prevail.
You must be that parent who sent secret emails to other players to have them come to Potomac with your son. It’s you, right?

Tell that to people who don't know where the first batch of ROSA boys came from
Or didn't see him with ROSA team at Potomac tryouts

So what???
I believe this is called 'Spin' in the world of politics
You're saying this is the proper way to do such a move?
If having coaches, families and players remain loyal to an organization that doesn't stand by their mission then yes, a move is needed. I don't have the background of the disagreements behind the scenes to say this was or wasn't "the proper way to do such a move". Sure, all the adults could taken more professional actions. My only and main point here is, don't let these actions impact the kids. Was it a rule or law that mandated the director to forfeit these kids from the tournament?? It was out of spite, period. And a disgraceful action on her part.
What about the coach who took whole teams to tryout at another club with the intent of leaving current club to join new club and taking them with him?
Ethical?
He didn't "take" any teams with them. He went elsewhere and people followed him because he's that good. We joined ROSA so my son could play with his friends, we are staying with this coach, because he's the best coach we've had. Plain and simple. He was ALWAYS above board...always.
