Anonymous wrote:Your DCSC offer is safe until August. The DC clubs struggle to fill rosters at every age group so you should be fine hollding out to hear from Arlington. Communication goes a long way to not burning bridges though so take this informaiton and now communicate with DCSC. They may play hardball, but trust your kid could show up in September and make their team if you got this offfer now in May

Bump.
Any 2015B ARL middle-level team players get offers yet?
Anonymous wrote:I know it’s not exclusively McLean but yes. I think the greater concern for others on this forum is being an existing Arlington player who gets bumped down for an existing McLean player. Mclean’s top teams in certain age groups are about the same, maybe a little worse, than Arlington. So there’s a higher chance that a top team spot that could go to an existing Arlington player will instead go to a top team McLean player who isn’t all that much better, if at all.

If so, I am not surprised given the tenor on these forums about the club and the loss of their ECNL charter. I also think the culture of the two clubs and family demographics are similar enough to make Arlington an attractive alternative for families looking for more stable teams than McLean has to offer these days.

Is there a thread that explains what is happening in McLean that is causing all this?
They lost the ECNL path.

Any idea why that is or anticipated timing for the rest of the teams?

I’m wrong about the second bullet. They have not officially offered all remaining top team spots, and are highly unlikely to do so today.

Anonymous wrote:I know of some of the younger age groups on the boys side who did and didn’t get offers. I don’t have info specifically on 2013G, but based on what I know for boys and our past experience both in this club and others, what I gather is:
- 1st set of offers went to existing top team players. This occurred a few weeks ago, and included “offers” where top team kids moved down.
- 2nd set of offers went out yesterday. This set appears to be the remaining spots on each age’s top team, after evaluating outside players from tryouts against existing non-top team players who may move up
- It is common for clubs to lock down their top 1-2 teams (for Arlington looks like just the top team) first before working down from there. It’s also common for offers to last 48 hours.
- therefore, if you’re still holding out for a top team spot, most likely the *earliest* you hear back is late on Thursday - assuming they are not giving out extensions, which I hope they’re not due to how late Arlington’s tryouts were.
- only after that will they start rolling out offers for non-top team spots. An earlier mass email said everyone will hear by May 22 (I think) but I’m not confident that date will stick.
We are reasonably confident in our assumptions and are planning accordingly based on them, but it’s the internet so take it with a grain of salt.![]()

Anonymous wrote:It sounds like the remaining pre-academy and academy offers went out today. At this point, If you didn’t receive an offer then you’ll have to hope that someone who did rejects it. Accept deadline probably Thursday, though someone correct me if I’m wrong. ☹️
