Saw a dog on a leash at the grocery store the other day. It startled another shopper, the dog's human apologized to that shopper. It was a disgusting shopping experience. Keep the dogs at home!

When you don't train your dog to properly respond to leashes, commands, etc., you have to take them with you everywhere because nobody else wants to deal with the spoiled monster you've made. Of course, then you're subjecting everyone on the plane to little fifi/fido, which is equally obnoxious.

In the past, you knew your neighbors (and hadn't pissed them off with your yappy mutt barking at all hours), or you hired a pet-sitter. I did a lot of pet-sitting as a kid; it was a great gig!

I don't think it's anywhere close to 90% who are awful, I just think we don't notice the good owners because they aren't burdening everyone with their bad behavior.

I walk past dozens of people out walking their dogs every day and the vast majority are perfectly good dog owners -- dogs on a short leash and well-behaved, picking up their dogs poop, not taking their dogs places they should be.

I have no idea of the percent of dog owners who suck but they really do ruin it for everyone. And there are more of them there used to be. I don't know if that's because a larger percent of dog owners are bad now, or if there are just more dog owners generally and it's the same percent of a larger population.

Either way, it sucks and we should be vocal about correcting their behavior because not all dog owners should have to suffer for the bad behavior of a few.

The cold seems to inspire a lot of owners to neglect picking up their poop.

Agree with pp, that 90% of dog owners seem to be neglectful and inconsiderate. Maybe not with poop, but in some other way - barking, not walking their dog courteously, letting their dog pee on people's yards, etc. It's an epidemic.
