Before you attack me, let me be clear on how I define beauty.
1)Physically attractive
2)Socially kind (some call this "polite", but not overly so)
3)Intelligent (not necessarily book smart; full of common sense)
4)Not a narcissist.
I don't think I'd be too far from the mark if I stated, firmly, that easily 70% of the women I've met in this area are vapid narcissists who "demand" to be treated like a "princess" without doing anything to earn such treatment. Most spend more time shopping and gossiping about useless crap that they do working, studying, volunteering or caring for their children/family, all of which are worthwhile activities.
Back home things were not this way. Women, in large numbers, can hold a conversation. Women devote their time to accomplishing real things in their community/family. Women don't dismiss men out of hand simply because the guy doesn't look rich or doesn't resemble a male model.
Oh, and before I forget, let me mention physical beauty. There's NO CONTEST. There are far greater numbers of physically stunning women in New England, the Deep South and the West than there are here in the mid-atlantic region. I, and my visiting guy friends, will vouch for that.
Here's the test. If you, in any significant way, resemble a character on Jersey Shore or one of the "Real" Housewives shows, you are NOT a beautiful woman. Period. Deal with it, and get a reality check.
So, are there ugly men? Sure. Are there ugly women? You betcha.
Signed,
A Happily Married Man
I completely agree with this. DC is a city that attracts people with more brains than beauty or style. Women are especially dumpy--just look around the metro any given morning. Given this, even the most modestly attractive female is viewed as HOT here. I actually think there are more better looking guys than women in DC. Perhaps its all the young college boys.....
