You should listen to the song "What it's Like" by Everlast. People have to make terrible difficult choices all the time.
But I would argue that we have very little insight into her relationships or lack thereof with those kids and have no knowledge of how much she has in fact fought to reunite with them and extract them from the cult.
But plenty of parents have lost children to cults and addiction and had to eventually separate themselves to survive.

He did not get a pass, his career was significantly effected for years. He has leaned heavily on Mission Impossible for the last decade.
What changed in the last few years was the movie industry almost collapsing in on itself from COVID. Despite his substantial personal issues, he has always been MR MOVIE STAR. He is committed to making big films on the big screen and he works extremely hard when he's on set. He's in the trenches and freakishly committed. His work ethic is famous.
And when he had Top Gun 2 ready to roll mid pandemic he refused to send it to streaming. He held onto it for like over a year refusing to cave to the demands to push it to streamers 110% committed to a theatrical release. And it became the first real post COVID blockbuster literally saving some theaters and reigniting the theatrical release business concept as it was teetering on the edge of caving to streamers. It paved the way for Barbenheimer, which he ALSO strenuously promoted, taking pictures of himself going to both movies.
All of this probably seems irrelevant or like I'm slavering over Tom Cruise. I think he's repellent as a human. But he also positioned himself as like 'the savior of the movie industry' post COVID and then actually kinda sorta DID that and so in the industry that went a long long long long way towards Hollywood accepting his renormalization in the public eye.
He will never be 1999 Tom Cruise again though. But the last four years he made up with Hollywood so his career will likely be up up up for however long he wants it to be.

I actually bet Tom was a great dad when they were together. He seemed really into being a father and was very doting plus he’s well known as being a lot of fun to be around. He was probably a nightmare husband because he’s a total control freak. Remember the stories about how he bought an ultrasound machine so they could just ultrasound Katie whenever when she was pregnant? That’s a level of involvement that would get old really fast — she couldn’t even have her uterus to herself!

Agree with everything here. My bet is Tom and Suri do have some type of relationship. Maybe phone based. Maybe they see each other once or twice a year.

It’s been a while since I’ve watched the Scientology documentary, but from what I recall, when Tom met Nicole, he wasn’t ALL IN with Scientology yet. He was taking classes and doing auditing and was losing interest because Nicole wasn’t interested in joining.
I followed Katie Holmes closely before she got with Tom Cruise, and while I’m glad she escaped, she went far down the coocoo rabbit hole. She was surrounded by Scientology handlers constantly, and spoke glowingly about the “religion” often.
